CHAMOMILE
Chamomile
is a common garden herbs that has been used since Egyptian
times as a medicinal plant. Chamomile is a popular treatment
for numerous ailments, including sleep disorders, anxiety,
intestinal conditions, skin inflammation, healing wounds,
infantile colic, teething pains, and diaper rash. Chamomile
is best known as an ingredient in herbal tea preparations
advertised for mild sedating effects.
Chamomile flowers are also
used as a hair shampoo. The flowers are sometimes added to
cosmetics as a salve for use on hemorrhoids and wounds. The
dried herb is used in aromatherapy and is often found in potpourri
and herb pillows. Chamomile is also used on the skin for skin
inflammations, sunburn, burns, and added to bath for relaxing
tired, achy muscles and feet, and softening the skin.
